Bill Stankiewicz Receives the Jane Fryer Award 2021

The Jane Fryer Award was established in 2008 to recognize a member of the community who has gone the extra mile to get involved in programs and activities that benefit many.  The recipient must exemplify the dedication, work ethic, and community service that Jane Fryer demonstrated in her 35 years of serving Troup County as Chamber President.

While it’s no easy task to live up to that expectation, we know that this year’s recipient has done just that. After retiring from a 40-year career in business and moving to Troup County a little over 20 years ago, he soon began looking for ways to contribute to the community. It didn’t take long for those opportunities to find him. To this day, he continues to volunteer with several organizations, some that he even helped to establish. There’s really no telling how many thousands of hours he has volunteered with the Hogansville Hummingbird Festival since his arrival in town. He has also served on numerous boards, including the LaGrange Troup County Chamber. His service to the community also includes 6 years as a City Manager and 2 terms as Mayor. As you can see, this year’s recipient has continuously demonstrated his commitment to his community – dedication, work ethic, and service -  just as the award requires.

This year’s Jane Fryer Award recipient is none other than Bill Stankiewicz!

The award was presented to Bill at the Lagrange-Troup County Annual Meeting 2022 on January 25th at Great Wolfe Lodge. Congratulations, Bill, on behalf of Trustbuilding.
